Strawberry tree
The strawberry tree is a small, well-known and much appreciated fruit bush. It produces strawberries that are used in pastries, fruit salads or eaten immediately after picking. Strawberry plants are part of the Rosaceae family. There are many varieties of remontant or non-remontant strawberries: the "charlotte", the "guariguette" well known for its very fruity taste, the "mara des bois", the "mariguette" and the "madame moutot" strawberry which can reach up to 60 grams. It is a very easy plant to cultivate.
You can make seedlings but it is better to buy strawberry plants and plant them in your garden. These will divide by stolons. This way, you will have new plants every year. In order for them to develop at their best, it is best to plant them in the fall or spring. The strawberry plant likes the sun but it is important to keep the plant moist. In the garden, choose a place where the soil is rich and moist. A sandy ground can also be appropriate for it.
It is necessary to remove all the weeds between the strawberry plants so that they do not suffocate them. You will also have to keep a close eye on the plants so that they are not eaten by slugs and snails. To keep the soil moist, you can mulch the plant. In order to have a good harvest of strawberries, you will have to eliminate the runners. Once planted, you will be able to harvest strawberries after two months and throughout the summer.
