How to plant a David's buddleia?
To grow David's buddleia, we recommend planting in the ground in a sunny spot. Make sure you choose a well-drained spot, as buddleia does not like soil that is too wet. The best time to plant is in spring or autumn.
Before planting, prepare the soil by working it deep and adding compost to improve fertility. It's important not to use chemical fertilisers, as buddleia prefers natural soils rich in organic matter.
If you buy a potted plant, make sure you water it well before transplanting it. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and plant the buddleia at the same depth as in the pot. Pack the soil well around the plant and water thoroughly.
Once planted, David's buddleia requires little maintenance. Prune it back severely in spring to encourage flowering. It will attract butterflies and bees to your garden, bringing a touch of colour and life to your outdoor space.
