How to sow bluebells successfully under cover?

To sow campanulas under cover, we recommend doing so in late winter or early spring, when temperatures start to warm up. Choose a shallow container filled with light, well-drained soil. Sprinkle the bluebell seeds over the surface of the potting soil and tamp lightly. Water gently to moisten the soil, without soaking it. Then place the container in an unheated greenhouse or bright room, at a temperature of around 18°C.

Keep the mould moist but not soggy by watering sparingly. Bellflower seeds generally germinate in 2 to 3 weeks. Once the young seedlings have a few leaves, you can transplant them individually into larger pots.

Campanulas like sunny to semi-shady locations and well-drained soil. They flower in spring and summer, adding a touch of colour and charm to your garden. By following these simple tips, you'll be able to enjoy beautiful bluebells in your garden.
