Cherry tomatoes
Black cherry tomatoHow to sow black cherry tomatoes successfully under cover?
To grow black cherry tomatoes naturally, we recommend you start by sowing them under cover. Choose quality seeds and opt for individual containers such as peat pots filled with good quality potting soil. Sow the seeds on the surface of the mould and cover lightly with potting soil. Water gently to keep the soil moist. Place the pots in a bright, warm spot, between 20 and 25°C, ideally near a window. Make sure the plants receive enough light and moisture to encourage their growth. Once the plants have developed a few leaves, transplant them into larger pots. Keep them under cover until the risk of frost has passed, generally from May onwards in northern France. When transplanting into the ground, be sure to space the plants well apart to encourage their development. Use natural mulch to keep the soil moist and prevent weeds from growing. Finally, keep a close eye on your plants regularly, watering them moderately and removing any suckers to ensure a fine crop of tasty black cherry tomatoes.
