How to sow broccoli rabe successfully under cover?
To grow broccoli rabe (rapini) under cover, we recommend sowing the seeds in individual cups filled with sowing compost. The seeds can be sown from late winter to early spring. It is important to ensure that the temperature remains constant and does not fall below 15 degrees Celsius.
Before sowing the seeds, it is advisable to soak them in water for a few hours to aid germination. Once the seeds have been sown in the cups, place them under cover in a bright spot, away from draughts and temperature variations.
Be sure to water the cups regularly to keep the mould moist, without soaking it. Once the plants have reached a sufficient size, they can be transplanted into the ground, taking care to maintain a spacing of around 30 centimetres between each plant.
