How to sow nasturtiums successfully under cover?
To sow nasturtiums under cover, you can start as early as March. It's best to use individual cups or pots to sow the seeds. Fill the containers with a mixture of potting soil and sand to promote drainage. Place one nasturtium seed per cup about 1 cm deep.
It is important to maintain a constant temperature of around 18-20°C to ensure optimum germination. Keep the cups in the light but away from direct sunlight. Water regularly, taking care not to soak the soil.
Once the seedlings have reached a few centimetres in height, you can transplant them into the ground, spacing the plants about 20 cm apart. Nasturtiums thrive in well-drained, sunny soil. They are generally easy to grow and attract pollinators to the garden.
