How to sow celosia successfully under cover?

To grow celosia, we recommend sowing under cover in early spring, around March or April. Choose a shallow container filled with a mixture of universal potting soil and sand to promote drainage. Spread the seeds over the surface of the substrate and cover lightly with potting soil.

Make sure to keep the substrate slightly moist by watering carefully, without wetting excessively. Place the container in a bright place, but away from direct sunlight, with a temperature of around 20°C. Celosia seeds need heat to germinate, so remember to keep them warm.

Once the plants reach a few centimetres in height, you can transplant them into the ground in mid-May. Celosias like well-drained, sunny soil. Remember to space them about 20-30cm apart. When transplanting, be sure to water well to encourage them to take root. With these simple tips, you'll be able to enjoy magnificent celosias in your garden without resorting to chemical fertilisers.
