Coleus
How do I sow coleus under cover?
To sow coleus under cover, you can start by choosing quality seeds. Use a light, well-drained potting soil to fill small pots or cups. Place a few seeds on the surface of the mould and cover lightly with potting soil. Water gently to keep the potting soil moist, without soaking it.
Place the pots under cover, in a bright spot but away from direct sunlight. Be sure to maintain a temperature of around 20-25°C for optimum germination. Coleus plants need warmth to germinate, so sowing them in spring or early summer is recommended.
Monitor the humidity of the potting soil regularly and be sure to aerate the plants regularly to avoid fungal diseases. Once the plants have developed a few leaves, you can transplant them into individual pots or in the ground, taking care to space them sufficiently to encourage their development.
