Delphinium
How to sow delphiniums outdoors?
To sow delphiniums outdoors, we recommend doing so in spring or autumn, when temperatures are mild. Before sowing, it is important to work the soil by weeding and lightly decompacting it. Delphiniums prefer well-drained, cool soil, so take care not to over-water once the seedlings have emerged.
Create small holes about 1 cm deep, space the delphinium seeds about 30 cm apart to encourage their development. Cover the seeds lightly with fine soil and tamp lightly. The ideal exposure is full sun or part shade.
It is important to monitor watering regularly and avoid excess water, which could cause the seeds to rot. Once the plants are well developed, you will be able to enjoy their magnificent colourful flower spikes. Delphiniums are sensitive to slugs, so be vigilant and take preventive action if necessary.
