Echinacea
How do I sow echinaceas outdoors?
To sow echinacea seeds outdoors, we recommend doing so in spring, when all risk of frost has passed. Choose a spot in full sun with well-drained soil. Before sowing, work the soil by carefully weeding it and loosening it with a pitchfork to make it easier for the seeds to germinate.
Echinacea seeds should be sown 0.5 cm deep in the soil, about 30 cm apart. Be sure to keep the soil moist during germination, but not soaking wet. Keep an eye on weeds and remove them regularly to avoid competition with the young Echinacea plants.
Once the seedlings have reached a sufficient size, you can transplant them into their final location, keeping a distance of 30 cm between each plant. After planting, water the young plants regularly until they are well established. By following these simple tips, you can enjoy beautiful echinacea flowers in your garden without using fertiliser.
