Forget-me-nots
How to sow forget-me-nots outdoors?
To sow forget-me-nots outdoors, choose a period between spring and autumn, when the soil is loose and frosts are no longer a concern. Prepare the soil by carefully weeding it and working it deeply so that it is well aerated. Forget-me-nots prefer fresh soil rich in organic matter, but it's best not to use chemical fertilisers.
When sowing your seeds, be sure to space them about 30 centimetres apart to allow the plants to develop well. Bury the seeds shallowly (about 1 centimetre) and pack the soil lightly to ensure good contact. Water regularly, especially in dry weather, but avoid excess water, which could rot the seeds or young plants.
Be sure to protect your seedlings from slugs and snails, which are particularly fond of forget-me-nots. You can also mulch around the plants to conserve moisture and limit weed growth. With a little care and patience, your forget-me-nots will offer delicate blue flowers throughout the fine season.
