How to plant hyacinths

To grow hyacinths, we recommend planting them in the ground in autumn, towards the end of September or beginning of October. Choose a sunny or partly shady spot, and make sure the soil is well drained. Hyacinth bulbs should be planted about 10 to 15 cm deep, spacing each bulb about 10 cm apart.

After flowering, the bulbs can be left in the ground to multiply naturally. However, if you want to replant them elsewhere, wait until the foliage has completely faded before digging them up. For potted hyacinths, use a light, well-draining compost and water regularly without soaking the soil. After the flowering period, the bulbs can be replanted in the open ground in spring.
