Lobelia
How do I sow lobelia outdoors?
To grow and sow lobelias outdoors, choose a sunny to semi-shady, well-drained spot. Lobelias prefer moist, fertile soil, so before sowing, work the soil by weeding and deep tilling.
The best time to sow lobelias outdoors is in spring, after the last frosts. Sow the seeds directly into the soil, spacing them 15 to 20 cm apart. Cover the seeds lightly with soil and water gently.
Be sure to keep the soil moist during germination, which can take between 14 and 21 days. Once the plants are well established, you can reduce the watering but make sure the soil remains moist.
Lobel plants can be grown in a variety of conditions.
Lobelias are delicate plants, so it's important to keep an eye out for diseases and pests such as aphids or slugs. If there are any problems, opt for natural methods to treat them, such as nettle purin or essential oils.
