How do I plant peonies?

The peony is a low-maintenance plant that flowers magnificently in spring. To plant it in the ground, we recommend choosing a sunny or semi-shady spot with humus-rich, well-drained soil. Dig a hole twice as wide as the plant's root ball and add a little compost to enrich the soil. Plant the peony in spring or autumn, making sure that the visible buds are 3-5 cm below the surface of the soil.

After planting, be sure to water regularly without allowing water to stagnate around the roots. It is important not to fertilise the peony, as it could become too vigorous and fail to produce flowers. If you choose to transplant an established peony, do so in autumn, taking care not to damage the roots. By following these simple tips, you'll be able to enjoy beautiful peony flowers year after year in your garden.
