How do I sow primroses outdoors?

Premiers are very easy plants to grow outdoors. To sow primroses, choose a sunny or partly shady spot with well-drained soil. Before sowing, work the soil by weeding and loosening the compacted soil to make it easier for the seeds to take root. Sow the seeds on the surface of the soil and cover lightly with compost. Water regularly to keep the soil moist but not soggy. Primroses are generally sown in late summer or autumn for flowering the following spring. Be sure to space the seeds about 20-30 cm apart to allow the plants to develop properly. Watch out for diseases such as powdery mildew and downy mildew, which can affect primroses. In the event of an attack, treat the plants naturally, using a decoction of horsetail, for example. By following these simple tips, you can enjoy beautiful primroses in your garden without using chemical fertilisers.
