How to sow zinnias outdoors?
To sow zinnias outdoors, we recommend doing so in spring, after the last frosts. Choose a spot in full sun with well-drained soil. Before sowing, prepare the soil by weeding and working it deeply to loosen it.
Zinnia seeds can be sown directly in the ground. Make furrows about 30 cm apart and place the seeds 0.5 cm deep. Cover with lightly compacted soil and water gently. Be sure to keep the soil moist during the germination period, which is 5 to 10 days.
Once the plants have 2 or 3 leaves, thin them out, leaving one plant every 20 cm to encourage their development. Watch out for diseases such as mildew and pests such as aphids, favouring natural control methods.
