How to plant daylilies
To plant daylilies, choose a sunny or semi-sunny spot in your garden. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball of the plant and add good quality compost or potting soil to improve the soil structure.
plant daylilies in spring or autumn, spacing the plants about 50 cm to 1 metre apart. Make sure the collar of the plant is level with the ground to prevent rot.
Hemerocallis prefer well-drained soil, so avoid soil that is too wet. Water newly planted plants regularly to encourage rooting, but once they are established they are fairly drought resistant.

Remove spent flowers to extend the flowering period and divide clumps every 3 to 4 years to prevent overcrowding and encourage more beautiful flowers. Daylilies are easy plants to grow and can add a lovely splash of colour to your garden throughout the summer.
