To sow large lazy blond lettuce seeds under cover, we recommend using small individual containers such as peat cups. Fill them with light, well-drained potting soil and place a lettuce seed 1 cm deep. Water lightly to moisten the potting soil, without soaking it.
It is best to sow the seeds under cover from late February until early spring. Be sure to maintain a constant temperature of around 18-20°C and protect the young plants from late frosts by bringing them inside at night if necessary.
The seeds should be sown in a greenhouse.
Also be sure to leave enough space between each plant to encourage their development. When the plants have reached a certain size, you can transplant them into the ground, taking care to space them about 30cm apart to give them room to grow.
By following these simple tips, you'll be able to enjoy delicious, naturally grown and healthy big blonde lazy lettuce salads in your garden.
