When should I prune it?

The branches of this aromatic herb are used throughout the year, so, as with mint, its tips are cut. It is a vegetable garden plant which is used to flavour culinary preparations but also to make infusions. It is a shrub which has an evergreen foliage. This sub-shrub is so imposing, that it quickly becomes imperative to prune it to allow it to keep an aesthetic dimension. Indeed, its anarchic growth requires regular maintenance, especially when it is planted in a pleasure garden. You will thus favour an ideal pruning to your aromatic herb!

You can prune it either in autumn, from the end of October, or in spring from the beginning of April. However, you can prune it during any season, as long as you don't do it during a period of extreme cold or frost and if the weather is sunny. However, we recommend that you wait to prune it once it has bloomed. The advantage of this aromatic garden herb is that it can bloom many times during the year. This gives you the opportunity to prune it whenever you want. Don't hesitate to plant it in your vegetable garden, it's a fabulous plant!

How to prune rosemary ?

Your aromatic herb has grown? Don't panic! When you notice that your rosemary is no longer in bloom, it's time to prune it. However, before doing so, keep an eye on the weather so as not to operate before the arrival of frost or a heavy heat. This will prevent your shrub from thinning out and going all over the place. Pruning rosemary in your garden is not complicated at all! You simply need to get rid of its dead branches. To do this, do not cut the branches on the dry wood of your aromatic herb!

You must know that on any tree or shrub, everything that is dry is dead. Therefore, no other growth could occur after pruning. Only the green wood concedes the appearance of a new branching. To give it the desired shape, simply cut it back by one third. If there are still dead months on your rosemary, in order to give it an aesthetic appearance, you have the solution of removing the driest and oldest branches, since they will no longer provide branches.
