How to sow wormwood successfully under cover ?

To grow wormwood under cover, it is advisable to sow the seeds in small pots or cups filled with light potting soil. Sowing can be done in spring, ideally around March. It is important to keep an eye on the moisture content of the substrate, taking care not to over-water to prevent the seeds from rotting. It is advisable to maintain a constant temperature of around 20°C to encourage the seeds to germinate.

Once the plants have reached a few centimetres in height, they can be transplanted into the ground in a sunny, well-drained spot. Wormwood is a hardy plant that does not require fertiliser to thrive. Just make sure you water it regularly, especially during dry spells.

Warning though, wormwood can become invasive if not contained. To limit its spread, you can grow wormwood in pots or tubs. Also remember to prune it regularly to encourage foliage production. By following these tips, you can take full advantage of the aromatic and medicinal properties of wormwood in your garden.
