How do I sow Black Crimée tomatoes successfully under cover?
To sow black Crimean tomatoes under cover, we recommend doing so in late winter or early spring. Fill small individual containers with a good quality potting soil mix and place one or two tomato seeds on the surface. Cover lightly with soil and water gently. Place the containers inside a greenhouse or mini-greenhouse to maintain a warm, constant temperature.
Take care to keep the soil moist but not soggy. Once the plants have a few leaves, you can transplant them into larger containers or put them in the ground if the night-time temperatures are mild enough. Remember to stake the plants to support them as they grow. Black Crimean tomatoes are old varieties but very tasty, so look after your plants and enjoy their abundant harvest in summer!
