Cassava
How to sow cassava successfully under cover?
To sow cassava under cover, we recommend using wooden pots or boxes filled with light, well-drained soil. It is important to choose a deep container to allow the roots to develop properly. Cassava seeds should be placed about 5 cm deep in the soil and spaced about 20 cm apart.
Cassava is best sown under cover in spring, when temperatures start to warm up. It is important to ensure that a constant temperature of around 25°C is maintained to encourage the seeds to germinate. It is also important to ensure that the plants receive sufficient natural light.
It is advisable to keep the soil slightly moist, taking care not to over-water to prevent root rot. Once the cassava plants reach a height of around 15 cm, they can be transplanted into the ground, taking care to space them about 1 metre apart.
