Hemp, also known as Cannabis sativa, is a versatile plant that can be grown for industrial, medicinal or recreational purposes. When grown for its fibres, hemp can be used in the production of textiles, rope, paper and building materials. When grown for its seeds, hemp can be used in food and feed, as well as in the production of hemp oil.To grow hemp, it is important to choose well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. Hemp prefers light, sandy soil, but can also grow in clay.
