How do I sow hemp (cannabis sativa) outdoors?

To sow hemp outdoors, it's best to wait until spring, when temperatures are milder and the risk of frost has passed. Choose a sunny spot with well-drained soil.

Before sowing, prepare the soil by weeding and working it deeply to loosen it. It is not necessary to use fertiliser, as hemp is generally content with the natural elements present in the soil.

Hemp seeds should be sown at a depth of about 1 to 2 cm and spaced about 30 to 60 cm apart. Be sure to keep the soil moist, but not soggy, to encourage germination.

Be sure to protect young plants from pests and weeds by monitoring them regularly. Provide a stake if necessary to support the growing plants.

Once the plants have reached a sufficient size, they will require little additional maintenance. By following these tips, you'll be able to harvest your own hemp easily, in harmony with nature.
