The ipomea is a tropical plant that grows all year round in the tropics, but in France it is grown as an annual. It is a climber and can be easily attached to any fence or trellis. It has the advantage of being very decorative. Its flower can be blue, pink or white. If the Ipomea is well known for its beautiful flowering, we also know very well its cousin "Ipomea Batatas" which is, in fact, the sweet potato. It is a well known vegetable in the garden to be eaten in French fries, mashed or in gratin. Ipomea is a member of the Convolvulaceae family. There are several varieties such as "Heavenly Blue", Ipomée Purpurea, Ipomée Coccinea, Ipomée Batatas. It is very easy to cultivate.
