Ipomea
How to sow ipomées under cover?
To sow ipomoea successfully under cover, it is important to sow in light, well-drained soil. Use small individual pots or peat pots for sowing, taking care not to bury the seeds too deeply. Sow the seeds at a depth of around 0.5 cm and keep the potting soil slightly moist, but not soggy.
It is best to sow ipomoea under cover in early spring, around March, so that you can transplant them outdoors once the risk of frost has passed. Place the pots or cups near a source of natural light but avoid direct sunlight, which could burn them.
Make sure the temperature is ideal for germination, around 20-25°C. Once the seedlings have reached a sufficient size, you can transplant them into the ground, taking care to stake them well so that they can hang on and climb. Avoid over-watering and over-humid conditions, which could encourage the development of disease.
