Charentais melonHow to sow Charentais melon successfully under cover?
To successfully sow Charentais melons under cover, it's important to choose quality seeds and sow them in light, well-drained soil. You can sow them in individual pots or mini greenhouses, taking care to space them about 5cm apart to avoid them getting in each other's way as they grow.
It is recommended that you sow your seeds in spring, around mid-April, when temperatures are milder. Before sowing, you can soak the seeds in water for 24 hours to encourage germination. It's important to keep the temperature between 20 and 25°C to ensure good plant growth.
Be sure to water regularly, but not excessively, and maintain a humid atmosphere under the shelter by covering the cups with transparent plastic film. As soon as the plants have 2 or 3 leaves, you can transplant them into the ground, taking care to space them about 80 cm apart to allow the Charentais melon plants to develop well.
