How to plant nashi?
To plant nashis, choose a sunny spot sheltered from the wind. Planting is best done in autumn or spring, outside periods of frost. Dig a hole twice as wide and deep as the root ball of the plant. Mix your garden soil with compost to improve its quality. Install the plant, taking care to cover the roots well with soil and pack lightly. Water abundantly at planting, then regularly for the first few months to encourage rooting.
Nashis prefer rich, cool, well-drained soil. Make sure that water does not stagnate at the roots. Mulch the base of the plant to keep the soil moist and limit weed growth. In natural gardening, give preference to preventive treatments and biological methods of combating diseases and pests.
