Lattuga AppiaHow do I sow Appia lettuce successfully under cover?
To successfully sow appia lettuce under cover, it's important to choose the right container. Opt for small individual cups or peat pots to encourage optimum rooting. Fill them with light, well-draining soil, tamping lightly to eliminate air pockets.
You can sow your appia lettuce seeds under cover from March for an early harvest. Sow the seeds on the surface of the mould and cover them with a thin layer of substrate. Water gently to keep the mould moist, without soaking it.
Place your containers in a bright place, at a temperature of around 18°C. Be sure to aerate the shelter regularly to prevent the formation of diseases. As soon as the first leaves appear, transplant your plants into the ground, spacing them sufficiently to allow each plant to develop.
By following these simple tips, you'll be able to harvest delicious appia lettuces grown naturally and without adding fertiliser.
