How can I encourage germination in agria potatoes?

To grow agria potatoes, it's essential to start by sprouting the tubers. To do this, we recommend choosing medium-sized potatoes with no signs of rot. After storing them in a cool, dry place for a few weeks to encourage dormancy, it's time to sprout them.

Place the potatoes in a bright place at a temperature of around 15°C. Wait for small, light green sprouts to form. This may take several weeks. Once the sprouts are about 1 to 2 cm long, they are ready to be planted.

Create furrows in loose, cool soil, about 10 cm deep. Place the potatoes in the furrows, sprouts up, 30 cm apart. Cover them lightly with soil and water well.

Take care to keep the soil cool by avoiding excess water. Agria potatoes prefer cooler climates, so make sure you plant them in spring for an autumn harvest.
