Brugnonier

The Brignonier, also called Brugnons plumier, is a fruit tree of the same family as the peach. Originally from Asia, it is very appreciated for its delicious juicy and sweet fruits, the Brugnons.

The Brugnons are rich in vitamins A and C, in fibers and antioxidants. They are therefore beneficial for health, helping to strengthen the immune system, prevent cardiovascular disease and regulate intestinal transit. In addition, their water content in fact makes perfect allies to stay hydrated in summer.

to cultivate a brigner in your garden, it is important to choose a sunny and sheltered location of the prevailing winds. The soil must be well drained, fertile and slightly acidic. It is preferable to plant the tree in the spring, in a hole large and deep enough to accommodate the roots.

Once planted, the brugnonier requires regular watering, especially during periods of drought. A mulching around the foot of the tree will keep humidity. It is also recommended to cut the tree at the end of winter to promote its growth and fruiting.

The crop of the brungons is generally done at the end of summer, when the fruits are very ripe. It is better to pick them by hand by turning them gently to detach them from the tree. Brugnons can keep for a few days at room temperature, but it is better to consume them quickly to enjoy their optimal flavor.
