How do I sow fenugreek outdoors?

To sow fenugreek outdoors, it is best to do so in spring, once any risk of frost has passed. Choose a sunny spot with well-drained soil. Before sowing, loosen the soil by weeding and working it with a pitchfork or hoe.

You can sow the fenugreek seeds about 20 cm apart, at a depth of 1 to 2 cm. Then cover the seeds with fine soil, pack lightly and water gently. Take care to keep the soil moist but not soggy, especially during the first few weeks of growth.

Fenugreek is a plant that does not need fertiliser. It is best to favour natural cultivation by avoiding chemicals. Be sure to keep an eye out for weeds and remove them regularly so as not to compete with the growth of fenugreek.
