Litchi
Litchi, also known as litchi chinensis, is a fruit tree native to China, where it has been cultivated for over 2,000 years. It belongs to the Sapindacaceae family, and can reach heights of 10-20 metres. Its foliage is evergreen, with shiny dark green leaves and clusters of small, fragrant white or yellow flowers.Litchi fruit are small, oval, bright red balls with a rough skin and juicy, sweet pulp. They contain a hard stone, which should not be eaten. The flesh of the lychee is very fragrant, with both sweet and tart flavours, making it a popular fruit in many countries.The lychee is widely used in cooking, in both sweet and savoury dishes.
