To grow white aubergines under cover, we recommend sowing the seeds in cups filled with light, well-drained potting soil. You can start sowing as early as March to transplant them into the open ground once the frosts have passed. Make sure you maintain a constant temperature of around 20°C to encourage the seeds to germinate.
When you sow the seeds, make sure you cover them lightly with potting soil and water them gently to maintain some moisture. Place the cups near a sunny window or under a horticultural lamp to encourage the plants to grow.
It's important to keep an eye on the moisture content of the potting soil by watering regularly without soaking it. When the plants reach a few centimetres in height, you can transplant them into the ground, spacing them about 60 cm apart. Remember to mulch the soil to limit weeds and keep an eye out for any predators, such as aphids.
