Calabaza azul húngaraHow to sow Hungarian blue pumpkin successfully under cover?
To grow Hungarian blue pumpkins, we recommend starting seedlings under cover. Choose deep containers and fill them with light, well-drained potting soil. Place a pumpkin seed about 2 cm deep in each container. Water gently to keep the substrate moist without soaking.
Sowing can be done in March, protected from frost. However, make sure you provide enough light for your plants, by placing them near a sunny window or using artificial lighting if necessary. Remember to aerate your plants regularly to avoid any problems with rot or fungal diseases.
Once the plants have reached a sufficient size, they can be transplanted into the ground, outdoors, when there is no risk of frost. Be sure to space the plants out and water them regularly, taking care not to get the leaves wet to prevent the development of disease.
