Peach tree

The peach tree is a fruit tree that produces peaches and that finds its place very well in an orchard. These are particularly appreciated in desserts such as pies or to be eaten directly from the tree. It is part of the Rosaceae family and we can list 4 to 5 common varieties: the vine peach, the Amsden peach, the Grosse Mignonne peach, the Red Haven peach and the Red Robin peach. It is an easy tree to grow.

It can be planted in a pot or directly in the ground. You will have to favour spring or fall to start planting your seedlings. It will be important to place it in a sunny and sheltered place from the wind so that it develops correctly. The peach tree adapts to all types of soil as long as it is well drained. For its plantation, we will take care to mix garden soil and potting soil.

It is important to prune your peach tree every year at the end of winter. You can also stimulate fruiting by pruning it a little before it starts growing again. To prevent your fruit tree from becoming infested with blister, you can spray with Bordeaux mixture in early spring, and then repeat the operation 15 to 20 days later. The first peaches will appear about 5 to 6 years after planting. And you can harvest the fruit all summer long, from June to September.
