Turnip

Pink-necked Turnip
The Milan Turnip is a very popular root vegetable in the garden, thanks to its mild flavour and high vitamin, mineral and fibre content. Its tender, lightly sweetened flesh can be eaten raw in salads, steamed, sautéed or added to soups. Its delicate flavour makes it a versatile ingredient in cooking, adding freshness and sweetness to many dishes.
To grow the Milan Turnip with a pink collar, we recommend sowing directly in the ground from March to July, depending on the harvesting period. The soil must be well worked and enriched with compost or well-decomposed manure. Seeds should be sown in rows 30-40 cm apart, about 1 cm deep. After emergence, the plants should be thinned out, leaving a space of 10-15 cm between each plant to allow the roots to develop properly. This turnip requires fresh, fertile, well-drained soil and regular watering to ensure even growth..
