Hungarian Blue Pumpkin (or Hungarian Blue Squash) is a very popular variety of pumpkin, known for its sweet, flavoursome flesh and unique blue-green colour. Pumpkin is rich in vitamins A and C, fibre and minerals, making it a highly nutritious food. Hungarian Blue pumpkin can be cooked in a variety of ways: in soup, purée, pie, au gratin or even jam. Its mild flavour goes very well with spices such as cinnamon, ginger or nutmeg.To grow the Hungarian Blue pumpkin, we recommend sowing it directly in the ground, in well-enriched, well-drained soil, from May onwards. It is advisable to choose a sunny spot to obtain an abundant crop.
